Cranberry Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    3/4 c. orange juice
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. cranberries, coarsely chopped
Preparation
    Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
    Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
    Combine orange juice, rind and egg; pour all at once in dry ingredients. Mix until all flour is dampened. Add cranberries and nuts.
    Spoon into greased loaf pan.
    Spread corners and sides slightly higher than middle.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour until toothpick comes clear and crust is brown. Store overnight.
