White Batter Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. milk
3 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 Tbsp. salt
1 c. warm water, 105~
2 pkg. dry active yeast
4 - 4 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Place milk in saucepan and scald. Remove from heat. Add sugar, margarine and salt. Set this milk mixture aside to cool to lukewarm. Next, pour water into a large bowl; sprinkle yeast over water and stir to dissolve thoroughly. Add milk mixture to water mixture and stir. Next, gradually add flour. Batter will be stiff. Beat for approximately 2 minutes until well mixed. Cover. Let rise in warm place free of draft for approximately 50 minutes or until double in bulk. Beat down and beat for 1/2 minute. Turn onto greased bread pan. Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 45 to 50 minutes until nicely browned and hollow to the touch.
