Lemon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 lemon rind, grated
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1/4 c. sugar
    juice of 1 lemon
Preparation
    Cream shortening, butter, 1 cup sugar and rind.
    Add eggs; mix in well.
    Sift flour and baking powder.
    Alternately add flour and milk to creamed mixture.
    Mix well and fold in nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until done.
    Mix remaining sugar and lemon juice.
    Pour over hot bread and pierce with fork.
    Let stand 5 minutes before removing from pan.
    Yields 1 loaf.
