Brown Bread Date Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. melted shortening
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Beat eggs until light.
    Add sugar and shortening.
    Blend well. Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add dates, nuts and vanilla. Blend well.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Cut in bars and roll in powdered sugar.
    Makes about 25 bars.
