Ingredients

2 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter or other shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift flour once; measure.
Add baking powder, salt and nutmeg and sift again.
Cream shortening.
Add sugar, gradually creaming until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and beat well.
Add vanilla. Add flour, a small amount at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Chill until firm enough to roll.
