White Chocolate Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    10 oz. white chocolate, coarsely chopped
    1/2 c. coarsely chopped Macadamia nuts, lightly toasted
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and shortening. Gradually add sugars; beat until light and fluffy.
    Add egg; mix well.
    Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Blend in vanilla.
    Stir in chocolate and nuts.
    Cover and chill dough for 1 hour.
    Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls about 3-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 14 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Let stand a few minutes before removing cookies to a wire rack to cool.
    Yield:
    about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
