Applesauce Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. oleo or shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    1 c. applesauce
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well.
    Add dry ingredients.
    Mix thoroughly. Add applesauce (fresh or canned). Add nutmeats.
    Pour batter into well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan.
    Push batter up into corners of pan, leaving center slightly hollowed.
    For well rounded loaf, allow bread to stand 20 minutes before baking.
    Bake 55 to 60 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
