Ingredients

1 lb. brown sugar
2 c. shortening (1 lb. oleo)
2 eggs
3 c. self-rising flour (approximately)
1 lb. dates
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 c. walnut meats
Preparation

Dough:
Cream together the brown sugar, shortening and eggs, then add flour to make dough to handle.
Roll 1/4-inch thick and spread with filling.
