Onion Cake Bread - cooking recipe

1 (14 oz.) hot roll mix
3 c. thinly sliced onion
1/4 c. margarine
3 eggs
2 c. sour cream
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Prepare roll mix according to package directions.
While dough rises, slice onion.
Saute onion in margarine until limp and golden, about 20 minutes.
Cool slightly. Beat eggs and sour cream until blended.
Add salt and stir sour cream mixture into onion.
When dough has doubled, punch down and let it rest 10 minutes.
Then roll out to an 11 x 15-inch rectangle.
Line a 9 x 13-inch pan with the dough, turning up 1-inch edge on all sides.
Pour onion mixture into the dough-lined pan.
Bake 55 minutes or until onion custard-like mixture is set. Serves 12.
