Ingredients

1 1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/3 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
chocolate icing or brown butter icing
Preparation

Mix thoroughly the butter, sugar, egg, chocolate, buttermilk and vanilla.
Stir in flour, soda, salt and nuts.
Cover and chill for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Drop dough by round teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, on 2 ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until almost no imprint.
