Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. soft butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg white, beaten with 1 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation
    Sift flour, measure and sift again with baking powder and salt.
    Cream butter well and blend in sugar and egg, beating vigorously until smooth and fluffy.
    Stir in vanilla, then flour mixture, and mix well.
    Slowly fold in egg white and water.
    Stir again until smooth.
    Chill dough for 2 hours, then shape into balls the size of walnuts.
    Dip fork in cold water and press balls out until flat.
    Bake in oven at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until slightly brown.
