Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. soda
3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening
together, then add eggs and molasses.
Mix spices with
flour.
Alternately
add flour and buttermilk.
Chill and roll
out.
Cut
with cookie cutter and place on lightly greased pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until done.
Makes approximately 5 dozen, depending
on
size
of
cookies.
They keep well and can be frozen.
