Mom'S Anise Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. yeast
1 c. lukewarm water
3 c. lukewarm water or combine water and milk
4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. dark molasses
4 Tbsp. shortening
4 c. graham flour
8 c. white flour
1 tsp. crushed anise seed
Preparation

Mix yeast and warm water and set aside.
Scald milk and water combination (3 cups), adding sugar, salt and shortening.
Cool. Add molasses and yeast mix.
Mix the flours and add, kneading and keeping dough a bit softer than for white bread.
Let rise until doubled.
Punch down twice. Shape into loaves and let rise a little before baking at 325\u00b0 for approximately 40 minutes.
