4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. margarine
1/2 c. molasses
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
chopped walnuts (if desired)
Preparation

Set oven at 350\u00b0.
Cream margarine.
Add sugar, eggs and molasses; mix well.
Add vanilla.
Mix in flour, soda and salt. Form dough in walnut size pieces; roll in sugar.
Bake 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake 12 to 14 minutes. Press down with a fork dipped in sugar.
