Scotch Shortbread Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
    favorite flavor jelly (optional)
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients until you can roll in your hands in 1-inch balls.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Options:
    Flatten with glass dipped in sugar or thumbprint and fill with favorite jelly. Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 20 minutes until edges are brown. Makes approximately 3 dozen cookies.
