Ingredients

2 sticks softened margarine
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream margarine and sugar well.
Add beaten egg.
Mix and gradually add flour and cream of tartar.
Add vanilla.
Add nuts last.
Roll dough into small balls and bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 300\u00b0 to 325\u00b0 until just beginning to lightly brown around edges.
