Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 - 2 tsp. vegetable shortening
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients gradually. Roll out 1/8-inch thick.
    Cut out. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 11 minutes. Melt chocolate chips and vegetable shortening. Dip cookies & let cool on wax paper.
