Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. boiling water
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 egg
Preparation
    Add baking soda to nuts and dates, then boiling water; next sugar and butter.
    Drop in egg; stir well.
    Add vanilla and flour. Pour into greased loaf pan.
    Bake 50 minutes to 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
