Ingredients

2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. margarine
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. applesauce
1/2 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate bits
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; set aside.
In the large bowl of an electric mixer, using the \"cream\" setting, beat butter and gradually add the sugars.
Beat until light and fluffy.
Add egg and beat until blended.
Reduce speed to low and add the applesauce and sifted dry ingredients.
Beat just until all ingredients are blended together, using a rubber spatula to scrape down the sides.
Remove from the mixer and stir in the oats, raisins, nuts and chocolate. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets about 1 inch apart.
Bake 8 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cool. Makes 5 dozen.
