Pecan Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1/3 c. currants
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Grease baking sheet.
    In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and soda.
    Cut in margarine/butter.
    Stir in pecans and currants.
    Stir in eggs and enough buttermilk/sour milk to make soft dough.
    Knead on floured board until smooth, about 1 minute. Shape into ball and place on greased baking sheet. Flatten to a 6-inch diameter.
    Cut a deep \"X\" into top of loaf.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 minutes. Cool on rack.
