Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
2 c. flour
3 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
Preparation

Blend sugar, molasses, shortening and egg together.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Mix all ingredients together.
Shape into teaspoon size balls.
Roll in sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
