Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/4 c. water
2 c. milk, scalded
6 to 6 1/4 c. flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation

Soften active dry yeast in warm water.
Combine hot milk, sugar, salt and shortening.
Cool to lukewarm.
Stir in 2 cups of the flour, beat well.
Add the softened yeast mix.
Add enough of the remaining flour to make moderately stiff dough.
Turn on lightly floured surface.
Knead until smooth and satiny.
Shape in ball.
Place in lightly greased bowl, turning once to grease surface.
Cover, let double.
Punch down, let rise again until double.
Cut in 2 parts.
Let rest a few minutes.
Shape into 2 loaves.
Place in greased loaf pans.
Let rise until double.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
