Ingredients

1 can sweetened evaporated milk
2 sq bitter chocolate
3 c sweetened flaked coconut
1 t vanilla
dash of salt
Preparation

Mix evaporated milk and 2 squares of chocolate in saucepan, cook 5-6 minutes until chocolate is melted and mixture is thick and smooth.
Mix together coconut, vanilla and salt, blend very well.
Pour chocolate mixture over coconut mixture and blend well. Drop by teaspoonful on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.
Top each cookie with a whole almond.
Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes.
Check after 8 minutes.
Do not overcook.
Cookies should be soft but firm.
Cool completely.
