Ingredients

2 sticks margarine
1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. light brown sugar
4 eggs
4 Tbsp. cherry juice
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
3 c. unsifted flour
1 (10 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped
1 (16 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped
2 (10 oz.) jars maraschino cherries, cut into thirds
1 qt. pecan pieces
Preparation

Cream butter, Crisco and sugars.
Beat in eggs; add remaining ingredients.
Add dates, cherries and pecans.
Dough will be stiff. Drop by teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 12 minutes.
Makes 7 dozen.
May be frozen for later.
