Ingredients

3/4 c. butter flavored Crisco
1 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. pecan pieces (any nuts are okay)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Combine shortening, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl.
Add egg and blend until creamy. Combine flour, salt and baking soda.
Gradually add to creamed mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop by tablespoonful (about 2 tablespoons of dough) 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy style.
Chewy style tend to look moist and gooey but don't overbake.
For crispy style, bake a few minutes longer.
Makes about 3 dozen.
