Icebox Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. shortening
    nuts, if desired
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla.
    Add dry ingredients slowly, mixing well.
    (Mrs. Bess used lard; I used 2 sticks butter and I also had to use more flour to keep their shape.)
    They are good.
    You can keep in refrigerator several days before baking or bake fresh.
