Sour Cream Nut Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 2/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. sour cream
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0. Mix shortening, sugar and egg thoroughly. Combine flour and other dry ingredients together. Blend flour mixture into shortening mixture alternately with sour cream. Stir in nuts and drop by teaspoon onto greased baking sheet. Flatten with greased bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Mix 1 teaspoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg; sprinkle on top of cookies. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
