Date And Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dates, cut
    2 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. walnuts
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cut dates, add water and soda and allow to cool.
    Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar; add melted butter and well beaten egg.
    Last, add dates and water mixture.
    Then add nuts and vanilla.
    A loaf pan (4 x 13-inch) should be used.
    Bake in slow oven (325\u00b0) for 1 1/2 hours.
