Ingredients

4 c. all-purpose flour or bread flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. sugar
1 to 2 c. raisins
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
1 egg, at room temperature
1 3/4 c. buttermilk, at room temperature
