Ingredients

3/4 c. butter flavor Crisco shortening
1 1/4 c. dark brown sugar (adds rich color)
2 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
Preparation

Beat Crisco, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl until well blended.
Add egg and mix.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda into creamed mixture until blended.
Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Cool for 2 minutes, then remove.
Place on foil to cool completely.
Makes about 3 dozen.
