Strawberry Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. margarine
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon juice
4 eggs
1 c. pecans, chopped
3 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. (10 oz.) Empress strawberry jam or preserves
1/2 c. sour cream
Preparation

Cream together margarine, sugar, vanilla and lemon juice.
Add eggs.
Beat well.
Sift together dry ingredients.
Mix jam and sour cream.
Add dry mixture and jam mixture to creamed mixture alternately.
Beat until well combined, stir in nuts.
Bake in 2 greased and floured loaf pans for 1 hour at 350\u00b0 until toothpick in center comes out clean.
Cool pans 10 minutes before removing bread.
Cool loaves completely.
Wrap in foil and freeze.
Thaw to serve.
Freezing seems to improve the taste and slicing although it's not necessary.
This recipe is well worth the time involved and always sells great at bake sales.
