Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
5 beaten egg yolks
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 heaping Tbsp. flour
4 c. milk
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

In an iron skillet burn 1 cup of sugar until it turns a golden brown.
Add 1 cup boiling water and stir.
Cook until it makes a syrup.
Mix together in saucepan the 1 1/2 cups sugar and flour. Add the beaten egg yolks and milk.
Stir in the syrup and cook until thick.
Add butter and vanilla and pour into two baked pie shells.
Top with meringue and bake until brown or you may let cool and top with whipped topping.
