Ingredients

1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs
4 1/2 cups flour (more if needed)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
4 tsp baking powder
Preparation

Cream shortening & sugar.
Add eggs, sour cream & vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together.
Add to creamed mixture & blend. Roll out on floured board.
Cut into shapes.
Bake at 350 for 15-18 minutes.
Sprinkle with sugar before baking for sugar cookies. Frost after baked & cooled for holiday cookies.
