Sugar Crunch Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg, unbeaten
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Crumble all.
    Sprinkle the yeast in lukewarm water in a small bowl.
    Add one teaspoon of sugar and mix.
    Let stand until the yeast is thoroughly dissolved, 5 to 15 minutes.
