Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. bran (oat bran or use any bran cereal, crushed)
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg.
    Add bran; mix well. Combine water and bananas.
    Add alternately with sifted dry ingredients.
    Mix well.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Spread in
    a greased and floured 5 x 9-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
