Black Pepper Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 1/2 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 c. cocoa
    1 1/4 c. shortening
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. ground black pepper
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    raisins, chopped walnuts and anise flavoring (optional)
Preparation
    In a large
    bowl,
    sift
    together flour, sugar, spices, cocoa and baking
    powder.
    In
    another bowl, cream shortening; add eggs (slightly beaten).
    Add milk and vanilla.
    Mix in dry ingredients a little at
    a
    time.
    Add nuts, etc., if desired. Drop onto ungreased cookie
    sheets 1 teaspoon at a time.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 minutes;
    cool
    on wire rack.
    Dust with sifted confectioners sugar.
    Can be frozen for storage.
