Ingredients

1 c. Crisco or lard
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. peanut butter
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Thoroughly cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in peanut butter.
Sift dry ingredients.
Stir into creamed mixture.
Roll into 1-inch balls; roll in extra sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Press lightly with floured potato masher or fork.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 10 minutes.
Makes about 5 dozen.
