Prune Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. prunes, torn into small pieces
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening or margarine
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. lemon extract
2 egg yolks (use whites for boiled icing)
1/2 c. nuts (pecans or walnuts)
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
5 Tbsp. buttermilk
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 whole egg
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add egg yolks, buttermilk, prunes and
nuts.
Mix
flour,
spices, baking powder, baking soda and salt
and
add to other mixture.
(If too stiff, add more buttermilk.)
Pour into greased and floured pans (either two 9-inch
pans
or
one
9
x
13-inch
pan).
Bake about 25 minutes at 350\u00b0 or until tester comes out clean.
