Old-Fashioned Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. margarine, softened
1 c. confectioners sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 c. oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
4 1/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
colored sugar (for decoration)

Preparation

Combine butter and sugars.
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Add oil, vanilla and lemon peel.
Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt.
Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and beat until well blended.
Wrap and chill dough for several hours.
