Sweet Violet Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 beaten egg
    1 2/3 c. milk
    1/4 c. cooking oil
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts or almonds
    2 Tbsp. minced violet leaves and/or blossoms
    violet leaves (optional)
    sugar
Preparation
    Stir together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
    Combine the egg, milk and oil.
    Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, stirring just until combined.
    Gently stir in the nuts and minced violets.
    Pour batter into 2 greased 7 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 2-inch loaf pans.
    If desired, gently press 2 or 3 whole violet leaves into the batter in each pan.
    Sprinkle sugar over batter in each pan.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool in pans for 10 minutes.
    Remove; cool on wire racks.
    Wrap and store overnight before slicing.
    Makes 2 loaves.
