Sweetheart Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
    1/2 c. cold water
    1 (15 to 20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. softened cream cheese
    1 c. chopped maraschino cherries
    1 1/2 Tbsp. maraschino cherry juice
    1 c. heavy cream
Preparation
    In a medium saucepan, soften gelatin in cold water.
    Add undrained crushed pineapple.
    Cook and stir until mixture starts to boil.
    Reduce heat; continue to cook for one minute.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in sugar and lemon juice.
    Cool.
