Brown Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 lb.) pkg. dark brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. margarine, softened
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 to 3 c. broken pecans
Preparation
    Cream the brown sugar, shortening and margarine in a mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
    Add the eggs.
    Beat for 1 minute. Add the flour, salt, baking soda and vanilla and mix well.
    Stir in the pecans.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 9 minutes. Cool on the cookie sheet for several minutes.
    Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
    Yields 72 servings.
