Army Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 heaping tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 pt. cold water
Preparation
On the bark of maples and, sometimes, beeches and birches in northern woods, a green broad leaved lichen grows, known as lungwort, liverwort, lung lichen, and lungmoss which works as yeast.
Gather and steep overnight in lukewarm water.
In the morning, add enough flour to make a good batter.
Place sponge in warm place and cover with cloth.
By evening, it will have risen. Leaven dough (save some), rise overnight and bake next morning. Never freeze!
