Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
2 3/4 c. flour
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Add baking powder and flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition.
Dough will be stiff.
Do not chill.
Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/8-inch thick.
Dip cookie cutters in flour and cut dough into shapes.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 6 to 7 minutes until light brown.
Remove immediately from sheet.
Decorate with frosting.
