Ingredients

1 c. soft butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. each: almond and vanilla extract
2 eggs, separated
3/4 c. chopped almonds
2 2/3 c. sifted cake flour
1/4 tsp. salt
48 whole almonds
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar; add flavorings and egg yolks, then flour, salt and nuts.
Roll into 1-inch balls.
Dip in unbeaten egg whites and put 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Put whole almond on top of each and flatten some.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen.
Good keeper.
