Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1/4 c. honey
1 egg
2 tsp. soda
3/4 c. shortening (not butter or margarine)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. sifted flour
Preparation

Melt shortening and let cool.
Mix other ingredients together. Mix in shortening.
Chill in refrigerator a short time.
Make 1-inch balls and roll in sugar (small cookies) or make large balls, flatten and press into sugar (large cookies).
Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes for small cookies and 10 to 14 minutes for large cookies.
Don't overbake!!
They don't look done when you take them out of oven.
Allow cookies to cool or they break apart when removing from pan.
But don't let them cool completely before removing.
