Ingredients

1 c. raisins
2 c. water
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
chopped nuts
Preparation

Cook raisins in water until 1 cup of liquid is left.
Then add the shortening, sugar, cinnamon, ground cloves, ground allspice, soda, salt, flour and chopped nuts; mix well.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes in a large flat cake pan.
Ice while warm with powdered sugar icing.
