Amish Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg, beaten lightly
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    pinch of salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. each salt and nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 1/2 c. fresh or dry-pack frozen blueberries
Preparation
    Mix sugar, shortening, eggs and milk until well blended.
    Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and spices.
    Fold in blueberries. Spread batter into a greased 9-inch square pan.
