Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. each: cinnamon and ginger
Preparation

Mix first 3 ingredients.
Sift together next 4 ingredients. Combine.
Roll in balls (walnut size); dip tops in sugar.
Place on ungreased sheet.
Flatten each with a glass dipped in water.
Bake at 350\u00b0 (will crinkle on top when baked).
