Kentucky Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. cornmeal
1 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. boiling water
4 egg yolks
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease a 2-quart casserole.
In saucepan, gradually add cornmeal, butter and salt into boiling water.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick. Remove from heat.
Beat egg yolk with milk; gradually stir into cornmeal mixture.
Mix flour with sugar and baking powder.
Add to cornmeal mixture; beat until well blended.
Fold in egg whites. Bake 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Spoon from casserole and serve hot with butter.
